I didn’t understand how the morning after pill worked

Illustrated portrait of a woman.

I risked an unplanned pregnancy when I was about 22 because I didn’t understand how the morning after pill worked.

I was doing a drama workshop and I didn’t want to get bad side effects.

I hadn’t had full ejaculatory unprotected sex, but there could have been some precum. I didn’t get pregnant, but it wasn’t worth the risk.

I ended up taking ellaOne a few years later after the condom broke and it was absolutely fine – I was still nervous about feeling sick and having bad stomach cramps/projectile vomiting, but none of that happened.

ellaOne® 30mg film-coated tablet contains ulipristal acetate and is indicated for emergency contraception within 120 hours (5 days) of unprotected sex or contraceptive failure. Always read the label.
