I had no side effects and felt more relaxed in the knowledge that it’s the most effective morning after pill to take

I was really nervous to take ellaOne. I’d taken the morning after pill once before with my GP when I was sixteen, but in my twenties, I suddenly became more wary of the side effects.
I’ve had terrible experience with the hormonal contraceptive pill, which I am no longer on, so simply didn’t want to mess up my cycle or hormones.

So the second time I took the morning after pill, I went to my pharmacist and did the typical whisper over the counter. I was taken into a side room and asked lots of questions about my sex life. I’m not uncomfortable talking about it… I talk a lot about sex in my blog. But I could see how it would make a lot of people uncomfortable in an already uncomfortable situation.

After establishing that it was suitable for me to take the morning after pill, and a few warnings about my promiscuity and use of contraception, which I didn’t appreciate, I was offered ellaOne, as it can be taken up to 5 days after intercourse.

I was hesitant about taking it for the reasons already expressed… I remember having a bad experience the last time I took it with headaches and moodiness, plus it messed up my cycle.

After taking ellaOne, I felt fine. All day. It was amazing! I genuinely had no side effects and felt more relaxed in the knowledge that it’s the most effective pill to take. Overall, I’d say it wasn’t the best experience getting the pill, but my actual experience of ellaOne was brilliant.

ellaOne® 30mg film-coated tablet contains ulipristal acetate and is indicated for emergency contraception within 120 hours (5 days) of unprotected sex or contraceptive failure. Always read the label.
