My long term partner and I used a condom and I was on the pill. However, the condom split. We felt secure as we used two forms of protection, but I sadly got food poisoning and so had sickness and diarrhoea! This meant the pill was not considered safe. I was only 19 and at uni, having real mental health struggles, and a pregnancy could have pushed me to real problems. So once my sickness had stopped (48 hours after sex), I went to a pharmacy and got ellaOne. It worked. I may not have fallen pregnant anyway, but being able to access emergency contraceptive meant I could ease my anxiety and stop my panic attacks
ellaOne® 30mg film-coated tablet contains ulipristal acetate and is indicated for emergency contraception within 120 hours (5 days) of unprotected sexual intercourse or contraceptive failure.
